2026 - 2027 Leadership

A Message From Our President

There is power in beginning again, not by disregarding what came before us, but by carrying it forward with discernment, gratitude, and renewed purpose. As we enter this League year, I am reminded that meaningful community work is not sustained by good intentions alone. It requires prepared leaders, trusted relationships, thoughtful collaboration, and the willingness to keep showing up when the work is complex and the path is imperfect. That is what makes the Junior League distinctive.

We are not simply an organization of volunteers. We are a leadership development organization grounded in service. Our members do more than meet immediate needs. They learn to govern, collaborate, advocate, plan strategically, manage complexity, and lead with both conviction and care. The experience gained here does not remain within the League. It moves outward into classrooms, boardrooms, nonprofits, workplaces, civic spaces, and the broader Pitt County community.

For me, this mission is deeply personal. My work in equal access to education, nonprofit development, and community advocacy has continually affirmed one truth: lasting impact depends on prepared leadership. Whether supporting public education, advocating for Exceptional Children programs, helping families navigate unfamiliar systems, or building community centered initiatives, I have seen how much stronger a mission becomes when people are equipped to lead with clarity, courage, and compassion. That is why our theme this year is intentional, Mission Ready. Not as a slogan. As a standard.

To be Mission Ready means we arrive prepared to serve well, lead responsibly, and grow honestly. It means we understand that preparation is an act of care. When we prepare well, we honor our members, our partners, our community, and the people whose needs deserve more than enthusiasm alone.

This year, my hope is that every member feels both challenged and supported. Leadership should stretch us, but it should not isolate us. Service should call us forward, but it should also remind us that we are part of something larger than ourselves. To our members, thank you for the time, perspective, and heart you bring to this work. Whether you are stepping into leadership, finding your voice, or continuing years of dedicated service, you matter to the strength and future of this League.

To women interested in membership, welcome. If you are looking for a place to serve with purpose, grow as a leader, and build meaningful connections, there is room for you here. You do not need to arrive with every answer. You only need the willingness to learn, contribute, and show up with intention.

To our community partners, sponsors, businesses, and collaborators, thank you for the work you do across Pitt County and for the trust you place in partnership. We recognize that community impact is shared work, and we are grateful for every opportunity to serve alongside you.

Greenville is defined not only by place, but by connection. What we build here matters. The leadership we cultivate here matters. The way we show up for one another matters.

This year, I invite each of us to consider what it means to be Mission Ready: for ourselves, for this League, for the women who will lead after us, and for the community we are entrusted to serve.

I am honored to serve as President for the 2026–2027 League year, and I look forward to what we will build together with clarity, courage, and care.

With gratitude,

Jamie Lynn Cash
President, 2026–2027
